The Government of Hungary commemorates the centenary of the birth of the life-rescuer Swedish diplomat by organizing a Wallenberg year.

The Wallenberg year will be officially opened by János Martonyi, Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs at the Hungarian National Museum on 17 January 2012 at 3.00 p.m.

Opening addresses will be delivered by Yossi Peled, Minister without portfolio of the State of Israel and by Carl Bildt, Swedish Minister for Foreign Affairs, who will open the Swedish exhibition entitled “To me there’s no other choice - Raoul Wallenberg 1912-2012” at the same time.
